First, a VERY BIG THANK YOU to all those who took the time to enter a photograph into this competition.  Considering that this was the first year that we have run it, the response has been excellent and photographs covering a very broad range of subjects were received.

All photographs were judged by  East Leake's very own professional photographer Hayley Masom of Hayley Masom Photography and we are now delighted reveal the TWELVE WINNERS for the
EAST LEAKE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS PHOTO COMPETITION

Many Congratulations to all of you, and thanks again to everyone who participated and to Hayley for her time.

Judge's Comments

"Whilst there is little to denote Xmas in Meadow Park, the position of the sun will tell anyone who understands light that it's winter. That and the bareness of the trees. It's always difficult to shoot into the sun and can normally never be done on auto camera mode as the camera gets very confused. So here is a good balance of light/shadows and the depth of the blue green clearly seen".

Judge's Comments

"What else is Xmas other than cracker hats, tinsel around the house and yummy food"

Crazy Grandchildren by Mollie Jacques

Judge's Comments

"Love the fire engine and Xmas decorations, good balance of light although the image has been heavily retouched to ensure it's a sharp enough image. The digital processing works well to show off the lighting and contrast"

Santa visits Truro Close in his Fire Engine by Jean Richardson

Judge's Comments

"A favourite of mine, sharp frosts on thistles and we all know if we're familiar to EL the brook in the background. Excellent composition, great depth, sharpness you can feel the frost. somebody who understands their camera!"

Judge's Comments

"Flowers and a digital montage, now, I'm not into flowers to know if these are November / December, but I like the way they are drooping down. Almost to keep themselves hidden from the cool air"

Photo Montage - Christmas Rose by Chris Watkins

Judge's Comments

"I liked the night shots and was torn between this and another one, but opted for this with the Xmas tree lights lit at night denoting our high street at Xmas"

East Leake Main Street on Christmas Evening by John Ollivere

Judge's Comments

"Sorry, but how could I not include the ELAPS Panto, sharpest image here with the best settings and the sparkliest dress did it for me.  Who does she think she is Dolly Parton? Obviously!"

ELAP's Panto 'Beastly' by Sue Hutton

Judge's Comments

" Brownie Nativity in full performance with animated moves and mouths in full song, clearly Brownie group with their prominent mascot on show at the front"

Brownies Methodist Nativity by Pauline Hargraves

Judge's Comments

"Love this one, it's nativity again but so different to the previous one, is it a performance, a rehearsal just waiting to start. I love the amount that's going on in this shot, the attention on all the kids faces and the world they are involved with at that time is priceless. Love it!"

St. Mary's Church Nativity by Pat Brown

Judge's Comments

" A great action shot. Again someone who knows their camera. Loved the composition which included the action, the marshalls, the judges , the audience and of course that kick"

Professional Kickboxing Association win six Gold Medals by Martin Byrne

Judge's Comments

"Building the Christmas tree, always much excitement happens in any house when you build the Xmas tree, it's usually the start of Xmas and this shot shows the togetherness, the concentration and the happiness all in one"

Derbyshire House residents preparing for Christmas by Zoe Evley

Judge's Comments

"Brilliant! Our village has a donkey sanctuary so we must be one of the only villages with festive donkeys.  Love the shot, the brown and white donkey in their normal day to day modes of eating their food probably oblivious to the gear that they have been adorned in, but so ....Christmassy!"
