When built the workhouse was a very substantial complex providing accommodation for 1791 inmates plus 610 beds for the sick and another 250 for the mentally ill. The vast majority of the other workhouse buildings have now disappeared but this one remains looking much as it must have done over 100 years ago. It is now used as the Health Trust HQ. |
