These two porticos are all that remain of the old original pavilion It's maintenance was neglected by the city council, it fell into serious disrepair, was then unoccupied for a long period and was finally burnt down by vandals. It was not on outstanding piece of architecture, but it's Italianate / art deco style did more closely relate to it's position and surroundings than its present day replacement. | |
