The first parts of the hospital were designed by John Simpson and were opened in 1782

Having lived with this once grim and grimy building since the 1940's, I find it hard to believe that this is the same place.

The restoration is absolutely stunning and graphically illustrates how beautiful these buildings were when new and why they are so worth saving.
