This was the original Nottingham Playhouse. It opened in 1948 in what was previously an old cinema and was vacated in the 1960's when the new one was built in Wellington Circus. The first show I saw here was Ann Hogarth and her puppet 'Muffin the Mule' somewhere around 1952. Later, regular school visits were made to see the more popular Shakepeare plays and other classics. | |||
