The poor old Palais used to be the largest building in this area but now looks swamped by new development and a mass of traffic lights. The original globe was much smaller and in scale with the building. It was a latticed window construction that was illuminated internally at night The Palais opened it's doors in 1925. How many people met their wives / husbands in there since then? It must be thousands - myself included! | |||
