It is believed that a church has stood on this site since Saxon times and there have been several re-builds over the centuries. What is visible today dates from the 19th & early 20th centuries.

For a church, it is unusually plain on the exterior with no real architectural embellishments save for the scuttles (left), but even these are restrained
